Until to 1998, the whole world nonwoven consumption has reached 2.4 million tons. In 1970, its consumption was only 400000 tons, and in 2007, its consumption is expected to reach 4 million tons.

Nonwoven fabric producers mainly concentrated in the United States ( accounting for 41% of the world ), Western Europe is 30%, Japan is 8%, China accounted for only is 3.5% of the whole world, its consumption is 17.5% of the whole world.

At present, man-made fibers still dominates the non-woven production, but before 2007, this situation will not change much. Worldwide for nonwoven fabrics production in 63% for polypropylene fiber, polyester viscose 23%, 8%, 2% for acrylic fiber, 1.5% for the polyamide, the remaining 3% for other fibers.

In recent years, non-woven fabrics in the sanitary absorbent material, medicine, transportation, footwear with textile materials use quantity has increased.

Nonwoven shoe covers
